My Approach

In my time working with young people at TIC+ and with adults at the Nelson Trust.  I really began to understand the value of the relationship that builds between the counsellor and the client and just how important this is for the therapeutic work to be successful.

Therefore, my main approach is a relational one.  The feeling that for a real therapeutic alliance to be achieved you have to feel a genuine and real sense of rapport within the relationship that you form with your counsellor.

As with all therapeutic work there has to be an underpinning of established theory, and as such I utilise an integrative approach of Person-Centered and Psycho-Dynamic theory. This assists me to support you in whatever you decide to discuss during sessions, allowing us to explore any repetitive presentations and patterns of behaviour, mixed feelings, emotions, thinking and thoughts that may appear over the time we work together.

Working from my private counselling room in my secluded garden near Gloucester city centre. I offer a safe, private, warm inviting and confidential space.

I work using an ethical approach of confidentiality as proposed by BACP.  Any notes I take will be kept secured under ICO guidelines and data protection.
